Our own John K. Muir was honored in May, 2005 for his Encyclopedia of Superheroes, recognized by the New York Public Library as one of the top ten reference works of the year. John K. Muir was featured August 15, 2004 on the Entertainment Network's E! True Hollywood Story ("Curse of the Exorcist" program). John T. Cullen was recognized with an award certificate and medal in April 2005 by the San Diego Public Library in its annual awards ceremony for San Diego authors. Congratulations to John Cullen, Far Sector SFFH editor, for placing in two categories (2003) on the Fictionwise site: Fifth in Best Selling Technology/Science eBooks of the Year with his title And Now, the Rest of Our ice Age; and First and Second in Best Selling History eBooks of the Year, with Walk Near Rome 300 A.D. Part I and Walk Near Rome 300 A.D. Part II. Also please note that John Kenneth Muir's Horror Films of the 1970s was announced as a Booklist Editor's Choice for '02 and as an Excellent Resource from RUSA for 2003. Kudos to John Muir! Back in 1999, Event Horizon, the excellent web-based offshoot of Omni Online, ceased publication. But by that time EH had recognized Far Sector SFFH's predecessor, Deep Outside SFFH, as a worthy colleague. Check out their links page, dated 1999, and you'll find us among the honorees. |
